Deleting your data
Docborg — Document Scanner PDF
Published by Stackborg · Last updated 5 August 2026
Uninstall the app. That deletes everything.
Docborg has no server and no account. Every document you scan, every folder, tag, note and recognised word lives in the app's own private storage on your phone — and Android deletes that folder when the app is removed.
There is no "delete my account" request to send us, because there is no account, and no copy of your work anywhere for us to delete.
If you want to delete some of it, not all
| What | How |
|---|---|
| One document | Open the library, press and hold the document → Move to bin. Then Settings → Storage → Empty bin. |
| Everything, but keep the app | Settings → Storage → Empty bin, then delete the remaining documents. Or uninstall and reinstall — faster. |
| A locked folder | Unlock it with your PIN first. Without the PIN or the recovery code, nobody can — including us. |
| Saved signatures | Settings → Signatures → delete. |
| Scan history for QR codes | Open the code scanner → History → Clear. |
Emptying the bin is permanent. If you have secure delete turned on (Settings → Privacy), the file is overwritten before removal, so it cannot be recovered by forensic tools either.
What we hold outside your phone
Almost nothing, and none of it identifies you:
| Data | Where | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|
| Crash reports | Firebase Crashlytics | Automatically deleted after 90 days. To stop new ones: Settings → Privacy → turn off diagnostics. |
| Anonymous usage counts | Firebase Analytics | Automatically deleted after 14 months, and only ever stored in aggregate. Same switch stops new ones. |
| Advertising identifier | Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network | Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID. Or buy Docborg Pro, which stops ads entirely. |
| Purchase record | Google Play | Held by Google as proof of purchase. Managed at play.google.com/store/account |
None of these contain your documents, their contents, their names, or anything you typed into the app. We remove that information deliberately before a report is sent, not by accident.
Want to ask us directly?
Email legal@stackborg.com with the subject "Data deletion".
We will answer within 30 days. In practice the answer is usually that we hold nothing which identifies you — and if that is the case, we will tell you plainly rather than send you a form.
